Sludge drying in water treatment is a process that uses the principle of evaporation of water to reduce the moisture content in sludge. In a conventional sludge drying in water treatment sludge drying bed machine, the steam pressure difference is the main driving force for evaporation into the atmosphere. In industrial wastewater treatment plant sludge drying equipment, auxiliary heat is applied to increase the vapor retention capacity of the surrounding air, which contributes to the latent heat required for the evaporation of sludge water. The purpose of heat drying is to remove as much water as possible so that it can be efficiently burned and disposed of, or can be further processed and turned into fertilizer.

The temperature between the sludge and air interface can be equated to the wet sludge temperature over the entire volume of drying air. All of this holds true only if the air temperature and the surface around the container are approximately the same. Drying is important in fertilizer manufacturing in order to grind and mix the sludge, compact its weight, and prevent it from continuing its biological action, which would further degrade it. The moisture content of the dried sludge should be controlled and removed until it is below 10%. By exposing more areas to the drying air stream supply, drying can be accelerated and results can be achieved faster.

In fact, the contact between the drying air and the wet sludge should be made possible so that there is a large difference in moisture content between the two interfaces. All this will contribute to smooth operation and efficient use of energy, and the previously mentioned factors should be taken into account when selecting industrial sludge drying equipment, which will help the treatment.

At present, Sludge drying water treatment in China commonly uses sludge dewatering machines for dewatering, forming dewatered sludge with a moisture content of 80-75%, and the current Sludge drying in water treatment accounts for 44.8% of sludge agricultural use, 31% of landfill, other treatment about 10.5%, no treatment about 13.7%. The next few years is the golden age of Sludge drying in water treatment in China, and thousands of sewage treatment plants will be built. Sludge drying in water treatment technology includes three aspects of sludge thickening, dewatering and drying. The existing domestic sludge thickening and dewatering technology is basically the sludge thickening and dewatering technology, and the general water content of sludge can only be reduced to about 80% after thickening and dewatering, while developed countries are gradually requiring the water content of sludge to be reduced to 20%-30%. Therefore, there will be a huge market for efficient and economical sludge treatment technologies including dewatering and drying technologies.
